Coming Soon: Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars 1/6 Trandoshan Bounty Hunter Bossk 12" Figure

The dreaded bounty hunter Bossk's reputation as a killer began at birth, when he clawed his way out of his own egg and, moments later, devoured each and every one of his unhatched siblings. This display of savage dominance impressed Bossk's father and earned him his name, which, in his native Trandoshan, translates to, 'devours his prey.'

As he matured, Bossk developed a reputation for slaughtering and skinning Wookiees a Trandoshan tradition that threw him head-to-head with Chewbacca and Han Solo on several occasions. Their continued run-ins developed into a long-standing rivalry, and when he was approached by Darth Vader to hunt down and capture the Millenium Falcon, Bossk eagerly accepted the opportunity. That particular bounty was denied to Bossk, however, when Han Solo and his friends were tracked by Boba Fett to Bespin's Cloud City after the Battle of Hoth.

Despite this significant loss, his tenure as a bounty hunter was mostly successful, spanning the time period from the Clone Wars and the Dark Times, all the way through the Rebellion and beyond. A true renegade, Bossk's lengthy career found him toe-to-toe with Jabba the Hutt, the Galactic Empire, the Old Republic, and the Jedi Order. Bossk eventually even killed and devoured his own father for leadership of the Bounty Hunter's Guild.

Kotobukiya 1/7th scale Jaina Solo ARTFX Bishoujo 9-inch Statue Coming Soon

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! It’s been a long time coming, but Star Wars is now officially joining Kotobukiya’s lineup of Bishoujo (Japanese for “beautiful girl”) statues! Get ready to see the lovely ladies of all eras of the ultimate science-fiction powerhouse reimagined like never before. First up in the new Star Wars series is ace pilot / Jedi warrior / daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa, Jaina Solo!

One of the most popular characters in the Expanded Universe, Jaina has appeared in numerous novels and comic books that take place after the events of Return of the Jedi and now comes to you in a fantastic Bishoujo statue based on an illustration by master Japanese illustrator Shunya.

A skilled pilot who became a member of the illustrious New Republic Rogue Squadron at the age of 16, Jaina Solo strikes a casual pose in her iconic orange flight suit, the same outfit worn by pilots for generations (including Luke Skywalker in the Battle of Yavin).

But the pretty young Jedi puts her own spin on the uniform, wearing it stripped down to the waist to reveal her tank top. Meanwhile, Jaina holds her helmet in one hand and her flight vest and lightsaber in the other.

Like all Bishoujo statues the cute Jedi has an incredible sculpt, with intricate outfit details like folds and straps. The highlight is of course Jaina’s beautiful bishoujo-inspired face!

Standing 9 inches tall (1/7th scale) on a special display base incorporating the Rogue Squadron emblem, not only is Jaina the first Star Wars ARTFX Bishoujo Statue, she’s also the first Extended Universe character brought to life by Kotobukiya. She looks great on her own, and she’ll make the perfect addition to any Star Wars or Bishoujo collection!

Available December 2012.

Peek at Sideshow Collectibles SDCC 2012 Exclusive G.I. Joe Lt. Falcon 12-inch figure

1/6th scale Green Beret LT. Falcon will be a Sideshow Collectibles Exclusive for the SDCC 2012 i.e. San Diego Comic-Con 2012, just one of the biggest, most happening conventions and one could say "the mother of all comics conventions" where toy and collectibles designers sell "Comic Con Exclusive" products. Such companies have included LEGO, Hasbro, Mattel and Sideshow Collectibles. Most such exclusives are licensed properties of movie, comic book, and animation characters.

Lt. Falcon is a G.I. Joe character in the A Real American Hero series. Of the officers in the Joe Team, Lt. Falcon is somebody who tries to be your friend. He is of the opinion that just because you're an officer doesn't mean you're respected. Respect has to be earned. Whether mingling with the rest of the enlisted men or training native insurgents, Falcon proves to everybody he is ready to get down and be one of the boys. He would even bite the head off a snake just to be on your side.

His real name is Vincent Falcone, and his rank is that of 1st Lieutenant O-2. Falcon was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As a Green Beret, his primary function is special operations. His father was also a Green Beret, who served with the 10th SFGA (Special Forces Group Airborne), making Falcon a second generation Green Beret. Falcon briefly served with the 5th SFGA's "Blue Light" counter-terrorist unit as an "A" Team executive officer. He has been cross-trained in demolitions, and is fluent in Spanish, French, Arabic, and Swahili. Falcon is also an expert with most NATO and Warsaw pact small arms. [source: wiki]

Falcon has an overwhelming friendliness, and can usually sway even the strongest isolationist into joining the fight. This excessive personality often leads to friction with his commanding officers. He is sometimes referred to as the younger half brother of Duke, which has more than once resulted in heated disputes. The hostility between the two has only increased, given that Duke has often used his influence to bail Falcon out of trouble. But Falcon has redeemed himself, and his specialized training has led to him heading up the G.I. Joe Night Force.

The original Falcon action figure was released in 1987. It sports the familiar green beret headgear, and olive green fatigues with tiger stripes and is armed with shotgun, knife, backpack and antenna.

This Sideshow Collectibles SDCC 2012 Exclusive G.I. Joe Lt. Falcon 12-inch figure looks pretty cool

Sideshow Exclusive: G.I. Joe 1/6th scale Green Beret The Lieutenant Falcon Sixth Scale Figure features: Hand Painted Portrait, Hand Painted Back Country Portrait, Fully Articulated Prometheus 1.2 Body, Generous assortment of Gloved Hands, Automatic Shotgun with flashlight, red dot sight and sixteen (16) shells. Tactical Tomahawk, Fragmentation Grenade, Pistol with two (2) magazines, Wrist Watch, BDU Shirt and Pants, Sculpted Boots, Beret, Drive-On Rag, Radio, Canteen, Pack, SERPA Holster. MOLLE Belt, Riggers belt, and H-Harness. Pouches for shotgun shells, canteen, and radio. Velcro Patches, Display Base with lower support stand.

And it comes with two head sculpts :) one clean shaven and the other a rough and tough "been in the jungle for days" look. The tomahawk axe is a nice addition too.

New from Art-figures – AF008 1/6th scale Raging Police OR old man Steven Seagal 12-inch figure

Steven Frederic Seagal (born April 10, 1952) is an American action film star, producer, writer, martial artist, guitarist and reserve deputy sheriff. A 7th-dan black belt in Aikido, Seagal began his adult life as an Aikido instructor in Japan. He became the first foreigner to operate an Aikido dojo in Japan.

He later moved to the Los Angeles, California, area where he made his film debut in 1988 in Above the Law. By 1991, he had starred in three successful films, and would go on to achieve greater fame in Under Siege (1992), where he played Navy SEALs counter-terrorist expert Casey Ryback.

However both On Deadly Ground (1994, which he directed) and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) did poorly in theaters. During the later half of the 90s, he starred in three more theatrical films and a direct-to-video The Patriot. Aside from Exit Wounds (2001) and Half Past Dead (2002), his career shifted almost entirely to direct-to-video films (often low budget productions and shot in Europe or Asia). Between 1998 to 2009, he appeared in a total of 22 of these. [source: wiki]

This is a new figure that will be released by Art-figures – AF008 1/6th scale Raging Police OR old man Steven Seagal 12-inch figure which will come with authentic likeness of Steven Seagal head sculpt, 12-inch figure body, blue shirt, brown leather jacket / trench coat, blue jeans, white underpants, black socks and brown leather shoes.

Also will include the M1911 pistol with pistol magazine, PTX760 10 motorola, police badge, handcuffs, gold pen, notebook, crime scene / stage set.

Not sure why Art-Figures went with this particular Steven Seagal head sculpt. I would've thought that they would focus on Seagal when he was famous for the roles he played from 1998 (Nico Toscani in Above the Law), 1990 (Mason Storm in Hard to Kill and John Hatcher in Marked for Death), 1991 (Detective Gino Felino in Out for Justice) and 1992 (Casey Ryback in Under Siege)

Here's a closer look at the Art-figures 1/6th scale Raging Police / Steven Seagal head sculpt. Someone on the forums said "It's like a mix of Jim Belushi and Steven Segal" and that comment wins the prize because it is exactly what it looks like to me haha. Art-Figures should have gone with the more popular and younger / fitter looking Seagal as Casey Ryback in "Under Siege (1992)"
