Happy Halloween from The Scarecrow mini figure, part of Playmobil Figures Series 3
Halloween or Hallowe'en, also known as All Hallows' Eve, is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows. According to many scholars, All Hallows' Eve was originally influenced by western European harvest festivals and festivals of the dead with possible pagan roots, particularly the Celtic Samhain. Typical festive Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (also known as "guising"), attending costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
The third series of crazy playing and collecting fun with PLAYMOBIL Figures (or Fi?ures) is already here! PLAYMOBIL launched 24 new fun characters for boys and girls (12 for boys and 12 for girls), adding to the creative line-up of figures from its mystery bag. The figures come unassembled with various interchangeable parts and accessories. They can be combined and assembled to the heart’s content.

It's a pretty nice figure that is well thought out and put together, with the long black overcoat and the garden fork (also spading fork, digging fork or graip)
Its face or head is a jack-o'-lantern, which is typically a carved pumpkin, named after the phenomenon of strange light flickering over peat bogs, called ignis fatuus or jack o' lantern.

Feared, merciless and despised; all traits of a brilliant tactician, war criminal, mercenary, murderer and yet another scale in the COBRA organization. Born in Sydney Australia, Major Sebastian Bludd served in the Australian Special Air Service Regiment, the French Foreign legion and as a third world military adviser for hire prior to his involvement with the terrorist organization known as COBRA.
Loathed and wanted around the globe for his many crimes and disregard for human life, this ruthless mercenary is proficient with a staggering variety of weapons and combat skills, all of which are wielded by a razor sharp tactical mind. Bludd has served the role of field commander and assassin for COBRA, but he has no loyalty except to himself and his bank account. Cold and calculating, not even COBRA Commander trusts Bludd.

1/6 scale S.W.A.T. 12-inch Action Figures - We really need more of them to form a bigger team!
Remember when 1/6 scale Norman Stansfield called for "EVERYONE"? See my earlier post HERE of bad cop Stansfield and good cop of Gotham City Police Department Jim Gordon with a bunch of 12-inch S.W.A.T. figures. Well, here's "everyone" that were gathered for that particular toy blog post i.e. some of the 1/6 scale S.W.A.T. 12-inch figures I had assembled for the photo shoot :)
S.W.A.T. (special weapons and tactics) teams are elite tactical units found in various law enforcement agencies trained to perform high-risk operations that fall outside of the abilities of regular officers. SWAT team members' duties include: performing hostage rescues and counter-terrorism operations; serving high risk arrest and search warrants; subduing barricaded suspects; and engaging heavily-armed criminals. They are often equipped with specialized firearms including submachine guns, assault rifles, breaching shotguns, riot control agents, stun grenades, and sniper rifles. They have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, ballistic shields, entry tools, armored vehicles, advanced night vision optics, and motion detectors for covertly determining the positions of hostages or hostage takers inside enclosed structures.
If you didn't manage to get a good look at who's who that were posing for pictures because the focus was on the two main cops, here's your chance to see the nine S.W.A.T. action figures I picked for the shoot. Starting with one of my most recent acquisition: This 12-inch GCPD S.W.A.T. figure is basically the Hot Toys Toy Fairs Exclusive "The Dark Knight" 1/6th scale Gary Oldman as Lt. Jim Gordon (S.W.A.T. suit version) Limited Edition 12-inch Collectible Figure Set (reviewed earlier HERE and HERE) without the head sculpt. I switched out the head so that I could put on the helmet and goggles to obtain a complete S.W.A.T. figure (you can't do that with the Jim Gordon head). This is the 1999 released Dragon Models Limited DML 1/6 scale Hong Kong Police Force Special Duties Unit (SDU) – nicknamed Flying Tigers 飛虎隊 – 12-inch figure "Michael Chan", the Assault Team Leader (with extra helmet added). The SDU were the elite paramilitary tactical unit of the Hong Kong Police Force. The unit was formerly trained by the British SAS before the handover of Hong Kong to China. See MORE pictures HERE
And this is a Kitbashed 1/6 scale Hong Kong Police Force Special Duties Unit (SDU) Assault Team Member using mostly Dragon and Medicom parts and accessories. Check out the pictures HERE
This is actually a kitbashed foot soldier / trooper of COBRA ("COnversion by Blackmail, Revolution and Anarchy") Command on account of the COBRA logo on his pants but in reality, this could be any one of those Special Assault Forces ;p You can see MORE pictures of this figure HERE

One man came this close to a shark and survived to tell the tale. Better yet, he took pictures of it despite being circled by the hungry shark for two hours! These pictures were so incredible I just had to share ;p
These terrifying pictures show the moment a photographer was circled by a hungry shark
but brave Australian photographer Sam Cahir refused to panic during the real-life Jaws scenario. Instead he reacted by getting in the water with his camera to capture these incredible shots. Sam had been taking part in a Great White tagging trip when he found himself face-to-face with the deadly predator off the Neptune Islands, South Australia.
Sam said: 'The Mako made some menacing passes. On a number of occasions she almost swallowed the camera whole, allowing me to shoot straight down her maw. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I feel humbled to have witnessed such a display of nature's quirkiness.'
Sam was taking part in work carried out by the Fox Shark Research Foundation, which was set up by Andrew Fox, the son of famous shark attack victim Rodney Fox, in notorious shark infested waters.
Sam said, 'This Mako was audacious, bordering manic. At one point I had a Great White and a Mako circling for the tuna bait. The Mako literally browbeat away a Great White and not just any Great White Shark but a very large dominant male maybe six times her mass and twice her size - it was amazing. Once the Great White left, the Mako decided I was the next threat to her free meal. She circled me for around two hours making intimidatingly close passes.'

Pre-order Blitzway Ultimate Masterpiece Series 1/6 "Carlito" Limited Edition Collectible Figure
Carlito's Way is a 1993 crime film directed by Brian De Palma, based on the novels Carlito's Way and After Hours by Judge Edwin Torres. The film adaptation was scripted by David Koepp. It stars Al Pacino and Sean Penn, with Penelope Ann Miller, Luis Guzmán, John Leguizamo, and Viggo Mortensen in supporting roles. The film's featured song, "You Are So Beautiful", was performed by Joe Cocker. The film follows the life of Carlito Brigante (played by Al Pacino) after he is released from prison and vows to go straight and retire in paradise. However, unable to escape his past, he ends up being dragged into the same criminal activities that got him imprisoned in the first place.

Al Pacino as Carlito Brigante. Pacino came to "Carlito's Way" directly from his Oscar-winning role in "Scent of a Woman". To get into the character, he accompanied Torres through East Harlem. There he could absorb the sights and atmosphere. Pacino first envisioned Carlito with a ponytail, but his visits to Harlem showed the men there were not wearing their hair that way. The beard was Pacino's idea. The black leather coat fit the period setting.
