continued from previous post...
This is Art Figures recently released AF-010 1/6 scale Soldiers of Fortune 12-inch action figure fully kitted (minus his assault rifle - that's up NEXT) and posed with pistol drawn and ready for action :) I have already covered the box packaging and contents in my earlier post HERE of the basic figure and here's my follow up toy blog post of 1/6 scale Jason Statham as "Lee Christmas" from "The Expendables" movie. Art Figures have been putting out some pretty neat stuff and their 12-inch figures have all been top notch, starting with their Art-Figures: SAVES "Punisher: War Zone" Figure (reviews and pictures HERE and HERE)
In the movie "The Expendables", Jason Statham as Lee Christmas carries a Beretta 92G Elite 1A on his vest in a cross draw holster. He uses it in conjunction with his knives in the final assault on General Garza's fortress.
In the 2010 action film "The Expendables" and the follow-up film / sequel "The Expendables 2" directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone, former SAS soldier Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) is Barney Ross's (Sylvester Stallone) worthy right hand man.
Lee Christmas is a martial arts expert, very adept at hand-to-hand combat, close quarters knife combat and is especially good at knife throwing. See my previous post of this Art Figures AF-010 1/6 scale Soldiers of Fortune 12-inch action figure with his throwing knives which are actually ninja weapons known as Kunai.
Lee carries his throwing knives in two holders (two on each side) strapped to his thighs. He has another two knives stored in his EOD vest on his back. He keeps his M67 fragmentation grenades safely stored in his pouch carried on his back. Although Art Figures included an extra 1/6 scale pistol magazine for his Beretta M9 pistol, there is no pouch to hold / store it :(
Art Figures AF-010 1/6 scale Soldiers of Fortune 12-inch action figure comes attired / fully dressed in black T-shirt, black combat suit consisting of long sleeve shirt top with elbow pads and black tactical pants with knee pads, brown leather-like belt, black gloves, black socks and combat boots. He also has his black beret, throwing knives (kept in thigh rig holders), Beretta M9 pistol with two (2) pistol magazines, pistol holster, gun belt, two M67 fragmentation grenades, pouch, EOD vest with two (2) throwing knives.
The 1/6 scale Noveske Rifleworks Diplomat rifle with EOTECH red dot sight, KAC foldable sights (front and rear), TAC2 laser pointer, three (3) rifle magazines and bungee rifle sling will be covered in the NEXT post.
Scroll down to see more pictures including close-up shots and views of Art Figures AF-010 1/6 scale Soldiers of Fortune "Lee Christmas" 12-inch action figure. With the beret on, he looks even more like Jason Statham in the "Expendables" films, a no-nonsense hard-hitting action all-the-way kind of guy who tells his buddy and good pal, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) at the end of the movie: "You gotta learn how to fight."
Art Figures option of including 1/6 scale hands with bendable fingers inside fabric black cloth gloves allow the figure to grasp throwing knives (as seen in the previous post) or hold his pistol comfortably since the fingers are posable. It doesn't really distract from the realism and I am quite okay with it as it does work for military types. Putting fabric gloves on Batman would be a mistake, hence the molded gloves option instead. Whatever works, right?
Since being cast to play the role of "Bacon" in Guy Ritchie's 1998 "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", it has helped catapult Statham into the public eye.
I enjoyed watching Jason Statham cast as the lead role of driver Frank Martin in the action movie "The Transporter", in which he was responsible for his own stunts (Statham has made this choice for all of his films). Statham has studied Wing Chun kung fu, karate, and kickboxing. The film spawned two sequels, "Transporter 2 (2005)" and "Transporter 3 (2008)".
