Hot Toys 1/6th scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes 12-inch Ninja Collectible Figure Review II

Posted on 21:16 by Unknown
continued from earlier post...

I am just loving this recently released Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS192 G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes Collectible Figure and dare declare that this has to be the BEST Snake Eyes 12-inch ninja figure ever released :) I had earlier covered the box packaging and contents HERE so now I want to show Snake Eyes fully equipped with his weapons - Two (2) Japanese-styled metal swords, Two (2) daggers, One (1) submachine gun with removable magazine, One (1) pistol with removable magazine.

Snake Eyes history wasn't fully covered in the films released. We know he grew up with Storm Shadow under the tutelage of the Arashikage Clan but we are never told why he has to wear the full mask over his face. In the first movie "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", Snake Eyes had lips - see the pictures HERE. I just cannot get over that! The overly bulky and muscular suit that was featured in the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra costume design just lacked that finesse or stealthy build that a ninja-commando should have. This latest version is much much better. Scroll down to see more :)

In these pictures, Hot Toys 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes has his ninja sword in one hand and suppressed Heckler & Koch MP7A1 submachine gun in the other.

Snake Eyes (Ray Park) can be seen using a suppressed Heckler & Koch MP7A1 submachine gun to shoot down incoming shuriken. Snake Eyes is also seen firing dual MP7A1s in promotional images for the film.

Snake Eyes has the FN FNX-9 pistol stored in the left-hand holster secured on his left hip.

The FN FNX-9 pistol is used by both Cobra ninjas and Cobra Vipers. Snakes Eyes (Ray Park) and Jinx (Elodie Yung) both take one after they secure Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) in the Himilayas.

Snake Eyes' other sword is safely stored in the sheath on his back. He also has a dagger secured on his back as well, along with some military style pouches

Snake Eyes has another dagger kept in a sheath on his right side

Snake Eyes proudly wears the Arashikage Clan symbol on his right shoulder.

Both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are full-fledged ninja masters trained by the Arashikage Clan, a fictional ninja clan from the military-themed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series of comics, television shows, and action figures.

Snake Eyes is quiet in his movements and is a swift and deadly master of multiple martial arts. He is an expert in the use of a Japanese sword and spike-knuckled trench knives, but is equally qualified with and willing to use firearms and explosives. He is also the team's resident hand to hand combat instructor. Making him even more dangerous is that he rarely relies on one set of weapons to the exclusion of others.

In the comics, Snake Eyes usually wears what could perhaps best be described as a black "military ninja" bodysuit, along with a balaclava and visor to cover his face, which was disfigured in a helicopter explosion. Since then, Snake Eyes has had extensive plastic surgery to repair the damage to his face; he still has a few scars left, but his vocal cords cannot be repaired.

I think this interpretation of Snake Eyes is the best by far. I love the overall design from the sleekness of his mask and visor to the armor on his upper body and how it is integrated with his body suit, ending with the military style black tactical pants with cargo pockets and cool looking boots

Check out the close-up pictures / images below which shows off the details of Snake Eyes costume / outfit best.

Hot Toys Snake Eyes comes with Five (5) pairs of interchangeable gloved palms including: One (1) pair of fists (which comes with the figure), One (1) pair of palms for holding gun, One (1) pair of palms for holding swords, Two (2) pairs of relaxed palms

The pictures below show how the different materials (fabric and plastic) integrate together to give Snake Eyes the ultra cool look. This is only possible with 1/6 scale figures as you cannot replicate this for action figures smaller size than 12-inch. This is the reason why I love 1/6 figures so much :)

Can you figure out how many layers Snake Eyes has on his costume? And yet the layers don't cause the figure to look bulky or heavy.

Besides the dagger on his back, G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes has one more on his right side

Nice side view of Snake Eyes showing off the slender body and cool armor

Snake Eyes' mask is not just a simple hood but it looks more like a helmet here with the sleek lines and cool design which extends downwards to his armor as well

I would certainly highly recommend you get this Hot Toys 1/6th scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes 12-inch Ninja Collectible Figure if you haven't... but only if you are a Snake Eyes fan like me :)
