Other Action Figures Seen @ STGCC 2012 including Iron Man, Batman and Primates

Besides Hot Toys Action Figures and Vehicles seen at the 2012 Singapore Toy Game & Comic Convention (STGCC 2012 from September 1 & 2) - see my previous FOUR posts - other manufacturers also wanted in on the 1/6th action figure market and offered visitors and collectors a glimpse at what's coming around the corner from their company / factory. Some pretty interesting figures were offered too. You'll have to scroll down to see them all :)

First thing to note of the picture below: It is NOT a Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark VII armor suit from "The Avengers" movie. It looks like there's going to be a new entrant into the 1/6th action figure market.

This is Play Imaginative's Super Alloy Iron Man mark VII 1/6th scale Collectable Figure from Marvel's "The Avengers" movie. Based on Tony Stark's mark VII Armor suit featured in The Avengers, this Iron Man figure comprises 85% die-cast metal alloy, with more than 50 points of articulation. Expected release date: December 2012 / January 2013. Scroll down to see more...

First thoughts: There's no way this can beat Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark VII armor suit in terms of details, sculpting, design and paintwork. Just compare this model with Hot Toys version which was also on display at STGCC 2012 - see my earlier post HERE for the pictures

Price wise, Hot Toys price is still way lower compared to Play Imaginative's pricing for their Super Alloy Figures. Their offering of SGD350 for the DC Super Alloy Batman is way too HIGH and I wouldn't pay good money for that chunky thing without much of a head sculpt (the face doesn't match the rest of the body and the figure looks more like a Iron Batman than the new 52 Batman designed by Jim Lee). You can see MORE pictures of Super Alloy Batman HERE. And the Play Imaginative booth was all about showing off their new Super Alloy Batman. I was actually more attracted to Jim Lee's art used for making the stands on which the figure is displayed. That says a lot, doesn't it? I really don't see how this new line can take off.

This year at STGCC, The Falcon's Hangar managed to bring in other 1/6th scale manufacturers to showcase their up-and-coming 12-inch figures as well, which is a great thing for collectors and visitors alike as we get to see more than just Hot Toys figures on display. Companies like Dragon Models Limited (DML), DiD, ACI Toys, ZCWO and kidslogic all got to put their stuff on display as well.

Here are four of Kids Logic brand new Egg Attack Iron Man series. Featuring full light up features, these figures were showcased exclusively at The Falcon's Hangar booth at the 2012 Singapore Toy Game & Comic Convention (STGCC 2012 from September 1 & 2). There was the Kids Logic Egg Attack Iron Man Mark IV armor suit...

And Kids Logic Egg Attack War Machine!

Dragon Models Limited (DML) also showcased their 1/9th scale Batman and Bane Action Hero Vignette from "The Dark Knight Rises"

1/9th scale Bane from "The Dark Knight Rises"

Dragon’s unique Action Hero Vignette figures are a cross between a display figure and a model kit. Possessing just a few parts, the pre-painted elements quickly snap together to create a 1/9th scale action figure.

And then there was 1/6th scale Golgo 13, a collaboration between 3R and Fewture for their first crossover figure. Golgo 13 (ゴルゴ13 Gorugo Sātīn) is a manga series written and illustrated by Takao Saito, published in Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine since January 1969. The series follows the titular character, a professional assassin for hire.

Golgo 13, also known by the pseudonym Duke Togo, is a professional assassin. His age and birthplace are unknown and there is no consensus in the worldwide intelligence community as to his true identity. Most of his jobs are completed through the use of a customized, scoped M16 rifle.

ZCWO showcased their 1/6th scale Brother Mark from "A Better Tomorrow". "A Better Tomorrow" is a 1986 Hong Kong action film directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun-fat, Ti Lung and Leslie Cheung. The film had a profound influence on the Hong Kong film-making industry, and later on an international scale.

Chow Yun-fat is Mark 'Gor' Lee and this 1/6th head sculpt of Chow as Mark is superb!

ACI gave us a glimpse of Jason Siu's 1/6th scale Primates in Concrete Jungle No.1 and No.2. These figures were showcased and sold exclusively at The Falcon's Hangar booth @ STGCC 2012. Scroll down to see more pictures of the duo and their primate masks.

Last but not least, ZCWO also showed us their new prototype, Fools Fantasy "Illusion of Depressing Love" which was HUGE. It took up all of the shelf space and was a vinyl pop art statue

And the semi-nude girl he's carrying is wearing a large Star Wars Stormtrooper-like mask with mickey mouse ears and bear-like paws with claws for hands and feet.
