Preview Hot Toys Iron Man 3 movie 1/4th scale Mark XLII and War Machine Collectible Busts

Iron Man 3 is the upcoming American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Iron Man, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It will be the sequel to Iron Man and Iron Man 2, and the seventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being the first major release in that franchise since the crossover film The Avengers. It is scheduled to be released internationally on April 25, 2013 in IMAX and May 3, 2013 in the United States.

Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/4th scale Mark XLII Limited Edition Collectible Bust from one of the most anticipating blockbusters of the year - Iron Man 3 movie. It is specially produced based on the image of the iconic character Mark XLII in the movie, which is presented in fine sculpture, highlighting the light-up functions and metallic colored painting on armor.

Personally I don't have a thing for busts. Why should I settle for less-than-half a man / hero if I can have the whole? I like the complete figure for a full picture so that I can appreciate the figure for what it is and a bust just doesn't have all the details nor the completeness I can get from a 1/6th scale figure. These preview images of Mark XLII (Mark 42! What happened to Mark 8 to Mark 41?) and War Machine (it's a whole new version from the previous one – scroll down to see the pictures) released by Hot Toys at least give us a glimpse of what to expect when they release the 1/6 scale versions of these Iron Man armor suits nearer to the date of the film's release. Click on the pictures for a bigger and better view :)

Iron Man 3 movie's Iron Man Mark XLII seems to have a lot more gold in the armor than the previous versions

Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/4th scale War Machine Limited Edition Collectible Bust from one of the most anticipating blockbusters of the year - Iron Man 3 movie. It is specially produced based on the image of the War Machine character in the movie, which is presented in fine sculpture, highlighting the light-up functions and rotatable shoulder-mounted gatling gun.

War Machine has new armor and shoulder-mounted gatling gun.

That means a new version 2.0 1/6 scale War Machine will be released as well. That's exciting. Can't wait to see the 1/6 scale version Hot Toys will be releasing.

I wonder who came up with the gatling gun on the shoulder concept first? Predator or War Machine?

War Machines definitely looks more finished now as compared to the first version seen in the Iron Man 2 film. Good thing there's no longer the "ex-wife" ;p
