Review 1: ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure

N.O.M. (which stands for "Not Ordinary Men") is a faction in "World War Robot" (a graphic novel illustrated by artist Ashley Wood and written by both Ashley Wood and TP Louise. Also called the Great War) which sides with neither the Earth Coalition (Religious to a point at which they do not allow another belief on their world) or the Martians (atheists who left Earth to live on Mars) and are fighting their war to reunite humanity and put and end to the Great War. Their logo and beliefs are based on the trinity in which humanity must exist and one day return.

N.O.M.'s true enemy is M.O.D., who seek to stop N.O.M. and keep the war in constant motion. This is the latest WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. figure to be released by ThreeA and it is a N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure.

ThreeA has released quite a number of Ashley Wood's WWR N.O.M. 12-inch figures already, with 1/6 scale Nom de Plume being the first character to be released in the World War Robot toy line by ThreeA. There have also been the N.O.M. Commanders released as well. Scroll down to see more pictures of this latest WWR figure by 3A - 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure.

N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 1/6 scale figure comes in a plain box with Ashley Wood's painting / artwork on the cover and only the letters N.O.M. on it. On the back of the box is the product description "N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven".

Once the cover is lifted / removed, you'll find ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure lying in the tray, fully assembled with one spare right gloved hand included for alternate poses.

Under the figure tray is a nice giant poster (3 times the width of the box and twice the height) of Ashley Wood's depiction of N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven with the distinct "dritte" wording written on his helmet. Dritte means "third" in the German language.

Here's ThreeA (3A) World War Robot (WWR) 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure straight out of the box. I surprised myself with my second threeA sixth scale figure in less than a month but what can I tell you - these figures are GREAT and with Hot Toys skyrocketing prices forcing me away from their new releases, I'm redirecting my attention elsewhere :)

What attracted me to this figure was the whole bleak post-apocalyptic look and feel with the gas mask covering the entire face and tubes coming out of the mask (four in total). It's like these guys have never seen a clear blue sky because the entire world has degraded and decayed to a state where the air is no longer breathable and everyone has to depend on gas mask and oxygen tanks to live. A sad state no doubt due to man's own undoing.

Besides the WWII German looking helmet and gas mask, ThreeA (3A) World War Robot (WWR) 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure is actually wearing a very weathered / dirtied hooded shirt with the number 27 printed on the left chest and non-matching sleeves, the right-hand sleeve is long whereas the left side is short. Not sure why this is so but it's obviously deliberate because the left sleeve is not torn nor tattered but cut short and then nicely stitched / sewn together.

Over the hooded shirt, N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven wears a gun belt that has two holsters which hold his two revolvers (one on each side), a baton in holder, three pouches (they are actually WWII German StG44 triple magazine pouches) and the pouch / carrier for his oxygen tank.

With the hood up, you can see the N.O.M. logo and words "elle sehen" which is German for "see all", perhaps meaning "all-seeing eye" as there is the eye logo on the WWII German helmet with the German words "dritte"meaning third in German. The main logo does look like three eyes converging to form a triangle.

The oxygen / air hoses going from his gas mask into the bag / pouch that carries the oxygen tank look a lot like octopus tentacles coming out of his face and gives the figure a very intimidating look.

I really like the look of this threeA figure and much prefer the multiple hoses to the single FAT hose that came with Nom de Plume. the first character to be released in the World War Robot toy line by ThreeA.

ThreeA WWR N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven carries his baton and other gun (revolver) on his left hip. The exposed hand is painted a blackish ash gray color to match his outfit which I like since a flesh skin tone would not go with everything else you see.

See how the weathering made the figure look all "dirty" and worn, even though it's fresh out of the box.
