Preview Very Hot 1/6 Mercenary Suits (Sand & Green) for your 12-inch Gun-for-Hire Figure

Posted on 02:39 by Unknown
A mercenary is a person who takes part in an armed conflict, who is not a national or a party to the conflict, and is "motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, is promised, by or on behalf of a party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that Party".

As a result of the assumption that a mercenary is essentially motivated by money, the term mercenary usually carries negative connotations. There is a blur in the distinction between a mercenary and a foreign volunteer, when the primary motive of a soldier in a foreign army is uncertain.

This will be an upcoming release by Very Hot - two 1/6th scale Mercenary Suits (Green version & Sand version) for 12-inch figures. As with all of Very Hot's offerings, the 1/6th scale Head and 12-inch figure Body are not included with the set. Very Hot only offers uniform / outfit sets with accessories, gear and weapons - all the stuff a 12-inch guy needs to be equipped for battle.

And since a Mercenary does not belong to any particular army, they pretty much come with their own getup / gear as long as they think it gets the job done.

In this way, Very Hot can put together any 1/6th scale outfit and throw in some miniature gear and weapons and call any figure a mercenary and it will be correct. No worries about inaccuracies of gear or outdated equipment.

This Very Hot 1/6th scale Mercenary (Sand version) comes with a sniper rifle and a secondary weapon for close quarter fighting when the heat gets too close for comfort. He has enough stuff on him to engage the enemy but for how long he can keep up the firefight is anybody's guess.

A pretty decent set overall with enough items for a complete figure OR good parts for kitbashing and adding on to an existing figure. So either stock up your kitbash bin or just go with the set as is.

Besides the Very Hot 1/6th scale Mercenary Suit (Sand version), there is also the Very Hot 1/6th scale Mercenary Suit (Green version)

Difference between the two suits other than the colors (one being Sand color and the other Green color) are the weapons carried (primary and secondary) plus gear and vest types.

The inclusion of the fleece jacket suggests that these guys are meant to be fighting in some cold environment (the mountains of Afghanistan comes to mind, one of the few places in the world where fighting still occurs).

It also looks like both Very Hot Mercenary sets are meant to depict snipers because they are certainly armed with various sniper rifles which come with sniper drag bags.

The Sniper Drag bag will hold a scoped rifle up to 50" in length, held securely in place with three adjustable tie downs.

With these two Very Hot 1/6th scale Mercenary suits (Green and Sand) and their entirely different contents from gear to weapons, it's certainly a hard choice when it comes to choosing which set to equip your 12-inch figure with ;p
