ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch awesome action figure REVIEW II

Posted on 19:57 by Unknown
continued from earlier post...

"They say... There were only ten that ever walked with us, that each could hold an army at bay single handed. They say we will never see their kind again and each of the ten shelter silent wisdom cast from a memory of the end. These are the SHOGUN TK." ...from ThreeA

This is the recently released ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch figure. There are also the 3A Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Tsuki and Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Seven Bones released as well. According to 3A, Tomorrow Kings are male clones, from the Popbot Universe who were created by Luthor Bean Jr. originally used for corporate takeovers. These "Elvis ronin" were created to slay all monsters & ghouls with Luthor Bean Sr.'s Ion Engine that escaped Earth. They are also used to fight the Mortis. I just love Ashley Wood's take on the subject and his stunning art on this series as well as other 3A product lines.

In my earlier post HERE, I showed pictures of 3A TK Shogun Gorei without his helmet and he looked all calm and serene, and monk-like because of his shaved head and orange garb (top). But here with his helmet on and wielding his HUGE sword, he looks just so bada$$ and cool. I just love the segmented armor he has on his left arm, how they overlap and form. Scroll down to see more pictures.

Enjoy the turnaround views of this awesome 12-inch figure that is ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei. I just love the whole look and feel of this post-apocalyptic Samurai warrior figure :)

Enjoy the pictures of TK Shogun Gorei from ThreeA

Besides his helmet, armor and sword, TK Shogun Gorei has multiple pouches (which are actually military pouches for rifle magazines) as well as utility and general pouches. The mishmash just works so well for the post-apocalyptic look.

The sheath secured on his back is for his long sword which has wires coming out from the hilt

The wires are connected to a battery pack stored on one of his pouches. The 1/6 scale battery pack was shown in my earlier post HERE

Close-up views and pictures / images of ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch action figure - just jaw dropping awesomeness :)

Review I: ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch awesome action figure

Posted on 19:34 by Unknown
"They say... There were only ten that ever walked with us, that each could hold an army at bay single handed. They say we will never see their kind again and each of the ten shelter silent wisdom cast from a memory of the end. These are the SHOGUN TK." ...from ThreeA

I just love Ashley Wood's take on the subject and his stunning art on this series as well as other 3A product lines.

I don't collect all of ThreeA's figures but only those that I really like and this was one figure I just could not resist. He's a 1/6 scale post-apocalyptic Samurai figure! How cool is that!! What's even better? Without the helmet and with his shaved head, Gorei looks just like a (Shaolin) monk, especially with the orange top (only TK Shogun Gorei comes with an orange top). Scroll down to see more of this awesome 3A TK Shogun warrior figure.

The box that holds 3A TK Shogun Gorei has Ashley Wood's beautiful illustration and comes with a huge giant-sized poster of the same illustration with orange background. And the picture below shows how 3A TK Shogun Gorei looks once you remove the figure from the box. Everything is already assembled on him except his large sword / blade (weapon) and helmet. These two items are packed separately. He also comes with an extra left gloved hand for holding his sword.

The awesome part about this 3A TK Shogun Gorei figure is the segmented and layered shoulder armor he has over his left arm which is attached to a chest plate armor as well as back plate armor. The Samurai helmet is also very cool as well. Then there's the humongous sword that has wires coming out from the hilt.

The armor just makes TK Shogun Gorei looks so cool and bada$$. That and the getup he has on him, with the multiple pouches which are actually military pouches for rifle magazines as well as utility and general pouches. The mishmash just works so well for the post-apocalyptic look.

Scroll down to see the turnaround views of this ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch action figure. I just wanted to show him first without his helmet and in a non-threatening non-violent pose, of one who seeks a peaceful solution rather than a violent end.

Here's a back view of Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei with his huge sword sheathed and carried on his back, together with the extra pouches he has all around his waist.

The wires coming out from the sword hilt makes it look interesting and adds another mysterious element to the whole picture. Where does the wires end up? Scroll down to see the answer.

Here are some close-up pictures of ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei head sculpt. He looks very monk-like to me.

Close-up view of the multiple pouches TK Shogun Gorei carries around his waist

The wires from his sword are connected to a cylindrical looking battery with two holes / terminals. The battery is stored in one of the pouches.

3A & Marvel The Invincible Iron Man teaser

Posted on 00:29 by Unknown
Even Tony Stark would be impressed with Iron Man 3‘s incredible domestic opening weekend. Disney’s $200 million superhero sequel earned $175.3 million in its first three days in North America from 4,253 theaters — the second best opening weekend of all time behind The Avengers‘ $207.4 million bow on this weekend a year ago. The film managed a robust $41,218 per theater average and got a big boost from IMAX screens, which accounted for $16.5 million of its opening weekend gross. About 45 percent of tickets sold were in the 3D format. (source: insidemovies.ew.com)

Like The Avengers, Iron Man 3 played to a broad spectrum of demographics with a tilt toward older men. According to Disney, audiences were 55 percent above the age of 25 and 61 percent male. Disney also reports that couples made up 52 percent of viewers, while families accounted for 27 percent, and teens 21 percent.

Iron Man 3 opened higher than both Iron Man ($98.6 million) and Iron Man 2 ($128.1 million), which isn’t all that surprising given that it’s arriving after The Avengers, which earned $623.4 million domestically and became the biggest hit of 2012. It’s difficult to imagine that Iron Man 3 could have garnered such impressive numbers without the boon of The Avengers — especially because Iron Man 2 was tepidly received by most viewers and ultimately finished with less than Iron Man ($312.4 million vs. $318.4 million). It’s to Marvel’s credit that they were able to augment interest in the Iron Man franchise with The Avengers.

From 3A: We are very excited to present our first Marvel collaboration prototype (still work in progress) teaser of The Invincible Iron Man

Looks like everybody wants IN on the Iron Man franchise ;p

Pre-order ThreeA BBICN ACG Comic Con Exclusive: Hard Nipple War three pack

Posted on 22:11 by Unknown
This is the ThreeA and BBICN 2012 sixth ACG Comic Con (Guangzhou) Exclusive set – Hard Nipple War three pack comprising Cold Dick, Flakey Frost, Snow Paw plus Munich NTQ and TK KDO. You also get ACG venue gifts: 1/6 scale ThreeA White T-shirt, 1/6 scale ThreeA Black T-shirt and 1/6 scale ThreeA bag. That's five ThreeA 12-inch figures, folks :) You can pre-order this exclusive set at TFH (The Falcon's Hangar).

What caught my attention was the naming of the product. Hard Nipple War? If you google it, you'll find some rather interesting images appearing in your search result ;p The individual character names are also rather amusing: Cold Dick (male), Flakey Frost (female) and Snow Paw (dog). They certainly make a fun threesome haha :)

The other two figures are Munich NTQ and TK KDO. Tomorrow Queens are characters from the Popbot series. Not much is yet known about the Tomorrow Queens except for that, unlike their Tomorrow Kings counterparts, they are not clones.

Tomorrow Kings are male clones, from the Popbot Universe who were created by Luthor Bean Jr. originally used for corporate takeovers. These "Elvis ronin" were created to slay all monsters & ghouls with Luthor Bean Sr.'s Ion Engine that escaped Earth. They are also used to fight the Mortis.

And then you have the ACG venue gifts: 1/6 scale ThreeA White T-shirt, 1/6 scale ThreeA Black T-shirt and 1/6 scale ThreeA bag.

ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure REVIEW II

Posted on 22:04 by Unknown
continued from previous post...

This ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure deserves that much attention, hence a two-part review :) I had already covered the box, its contents and the figure straight out of the box in the previous post. Now let's do a breakdown and see what lies beneath the outer layers.

A quick re-cap: N.O.M. (which stands for "Not Ordinary Men") exists in the WWR (World War Robot) universe which Ashley Wood and TP Louise created and they are fighting in the Great War which involves other parties / factions as well. This N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure is released by ThreeA, a collaborative effort between toy maker ThreeZero and Ashley Wood.

ThreeA (3A) World War Robot (WWR) 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure comes with a WWII German helmet, gas mask with air hoses coming out of it and going into an oxygen tank, very weathered / dirtied hooded shirt with the number 27 printed on the left chest, a gun belt that has two holsters which hold his two revolvers (one on each side), a baton in holder, three pouches (they are actually WWII German StG44 triple magazine pouches) and the pouch / carrier for his oxygen tank, pants and boots.

Here's a look at 3A's N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven without his belt, wearing just the hooded shirt and pants and holding onto the oxygen tank. He comes with an extra right gloved hand besides the pistol / gun gripping gloved hand.

Check out the equally dirtied ("weathered") pants and boots, all done to get the post-apocalyptic look

The picture below shows ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure's gun belt that has two holsters for his two revolvers (one on each side), a baton holder, three pouches (they are actually WWII German StG44 triple magazine pouches) and the pouch / carrier for his oxygen tank all laid out, plus the pistol grip hand.

Here's 3A World War Robot 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure with the hood up and holding his baton with the gun gripping hand.

With the hood up, you can see the N.O.M. logo and words "elle sehen" which is German for "see all", perhaps meaning "all-seeing eye" as there is the eye logo on the WWII German helmet with the German words "dritte"meaning third in German. The main logo does look like three eyes converging to form a triangle.

Although ThreeA WWR N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven comes with two guns / revolvers, he only has one gun gripping hand so he can't be posed with his two guns drawn like how the old American Wild West cowboys are seen doing in the movies.

Scroll down to see more pictures of this ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure with pictures taken from all sides and showing the different profiles and turnaround views.

You can see the eye logo on the right-hand side of the WWII German helmet with the German words "dritte"meaning third in German.

Scroll down for the close-up views of this ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure with gun drawn. With the hoses coming out of the gas mask and going into the pouch, it makes N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven look like a human squid.

And lastly, some close-up shots / pictures of ThreeA WWR 1/6 scale N.O.M. Disciple Twenty-Seven 12-inch action figure with hood up and baton raised.
