Pre-order Crazy Owners 1/6 scale San Francisco Cop 12-inch action figure: "Feel lucky, punk?"

Posted on 22:18 by Unknown
Dirty Harry is a 1971 American crime thriller produced and directed by Don Siegel, the first in the Dirty Harry film series. Clint Eastwood plays the title role, in his first outing as San Francisco Police Department Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan. Dirty Harry was a critical and commercial success and set the style for a whole genre of police films. The film was followed by four sequels: Magnum Force in 1973, The Enforcer in 1976, Sudden Impact in 1983 (directed by Eastwood himself), and The Dead Pool in 1988.

Inspector Harold Francis "Dirty Harry" Callahan is a fictional San Francisco police detective in the Dirty Harry film series, becoming the template for a new kind of movie cop: someone who does not hesitate to cross professional and ethical boundaries in pursuit of his own vision of justice, especially when the law is poorly served by an inept bureaucracy.

This is Crazy Owners 1/6 scale San Francisco Cop 12-inch action figure Set includes: 1/6 scale Head Sculpt, 12-inch Figure body, Dress Shirt, Tie, Vest Sweater, Sports Coat, Pants, Socks, Shoes and 1/6 scale Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum. Scroll down to see more pictures

Looking Good: Hot Toys The Avengers 12-inch Agent Phil Coulson Collectible Figure Review II

Posted on 01:48 by Unknown
continued from earlier post...

This is the Part II review of the Hot Toys – MMS189 - The Avengers: 1/6th scale Agent Phil Coulson Limited Edition Collectible Figure based on actor Clark Gregg who plays Agent Phil Coulson in The Avengers movie. In the part 1 toy blog post HERE,  I covered the box packaging and contents as well as showing close-up views of Phil without his sunglasses and earpiece / headset. Here he's all decked out and ready to roll!

In the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Agent Coulson is generally depicted as a supporting character of the protagonists and used to represent S.H.I.E.L.D.'s presence in the plots of the films, to the point that Clark Gregg has described Coulson as "the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent". However, in the "Marvel One-Shots", Coulson is given "a chance to stand in his own spotlight for once", when the character is put in a position where there is an imminent threat and no superheroes around. (source: wiki)

Gregg has stated, "I think of Agent Coulson, after all these years, as a guy with a full life. I think every day he's somewhere doing something for S.H.I.E.L.D., and yet I don't always know what that is... There's always a different twist. In this one he gets to show more of his wisecracking wit, and in this one he's a little bit more of a badass."

Despite Coulson being called "the most recognizable face in the Marvel Comics movie universe", he is depicted as an "everyman" in a universe full of superheroes – "the glue that binds" the characters together. In Thor, Coulson complains that Tony Stark "never tells [him] anything," while in The Avengers, Stark shows his disdain for G-Men - short for Government Man, a slang term for Special agents of the United States Government - (as well as some degree of jealousy of Pepper Potts' very amiable treatment of him) by insisting that Coulson's first name is "Agent" rather than "Phil"

Here's Hot Toys The Avengers Phil Coulson wearing his set of black suit including jacket and pants, long-sleeve shirt, patterned tie, leather-like belt with buckle, pair of black socks and pair of leather-like black shoes.

His 1/6 accessories include sunglasses, earpiece / headset, walkie talkie radio, watch and Glock 19 pistol. All SHIELD agents carry the Glock 19 as their sidearm. There's no holster for the gun though :(

Phil Coulson also has his S.H.I.E.L.D. Level 7 staff pass on him. For a good close-up image, check out my earlier post HERE, including the set of Captain America trading cards which he owns plus the classified S.H.I.E.L.D. Security Level 7 folder

Hot Toys The Avengers 1/6 scale Agent Phil Coulson 12-inch limited edition Collectible Figure also comes with the Destroyer Gun. Coulson uses this gun which harnesses the power of the Destroyer and shoots Loki with it.

The cool thing about this gun is the light-up feature :) it also has a extendable stock / butt (cheek piece) and adjustable scope

Review Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6th scale Agent Phil Coulson 12-inch Limited Edition Figure

Posted on 20:50 by Unknown
Phillip "Phil" Coulson is a fictional character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a shared fictional universe that is the setting of several superhero films produced by Marvel Studios. Coulson first appeared as a member of the fictional agency S.H.I.E.L.D. in Iron Man (2008), where he was portrayed by American actor Clark Gregg, who then signed a multi-film deal with Marvel Studios and reprised the role in Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), and The Avengers (2012). He will again reprise the role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., an upcoming television series produced by Marvel Studios. The character's popularity has resulted in his appearance in the mainstream Marvel Comics universe, as well as in the animated television series Ultimate Spider-Man.

This is the Hot Toys – MMS189 - The Avengers: 1/6th scale Agent Phil Coulson Limited Edition Collectible Figure based on actor Clark Gregg who plays Agent Phil Coulson in The Avengers movie.

Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6th scale SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson Limited Edition Collectible Figurine specially features: Authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson in The Avengers movie; is approximately 30 cm tall; has TrueType body with over 30 points of articulations with Movie-accurate facial features with detailed wrinkles and skin texture. Scroll down to see more :)

Hot Toys Phil Coulson box packaging is simple and straightforward. Remove the slipcase cover and you get to see the figure and accessories through the window-box style display packaging. Gone are the days when Hot Toys' packaging was an art in itself. Cases in point: Hot Toys MMS-82 Movie Masterpiece Series 1/6 scale Edward Scissorhands (pictures HERE), Hot Toys Iron Man Mark III (reviewed HERE) and Hot Toys MMS80 1/6 scale Iron Man Mark I (posted HERE).

As with all of Hot Toys products, always read the instructions in the Instruction Sheet first. Click on the picture for a bigger and better view

And here's Hot Toys 1/6 scale S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson 12-inch figure from The Avengers, wearing his set of black suit including jacket and pants, long-sleeve shirt, patterned tie, leather-like belt with buckle, One (1) pair of black socks, One (1) pair of leather-like black shoes

SHIELD agents carry the Glock 19 as their sidearm. So does Agent Phil Coulson. There's no holster for his pistol :( not clear how he's supposed to carry it around with him

The 1/6 scale suit is a well tailored and stitched. It's also a very good fit and 12-inch Phil Coulson wears it nicely

Shoes are spit shined ;p

Close-up shots / views of the Hot Toys The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson 1/6th scale head sculpt. Certainly bears the likeness of actor Clark Gregg and the resemblance is pretty spot on :)

The level of painting head sculpts and skin tones have certainly improved by leaps and bounds and this is just an example of how much improvement has been made in this area. The head sculpt is so life-like and realistic!

This is another case where the head and neck are molded as one piece, just like Hot Toys James Gordon figure (reviewed HERE). In other Hot Toys releases, the head and neck are separate pieces.

Hot Toys is certainly leading the way with their phenomenally realistic head sculpts with the insanely real-like looking skin tones. It just blows the mind!

Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6th scale Agent Phil Coulson 12-inch Limited Edition Figure's accessories include: One (1) Destroyer Gun, Figure stand with Agent Phil Coulson nameplate and the movie logo, total of five (5) pieces of interchangeable palms including: One (1) pair of relaxed palms for holding walkie talkie or mobile phone, One (1) piece of right palm for holding gun, One (1) piece of left palm for holding gun or S.H.I.E.L.D. folder, One (1) piece of left palm for holding Captain America trading cards; watch, headset / earpiece, mobile phone, Glock pistol with removable magazine, sunglasses, staff card, walkie talkie radio, ten (10) Captain America trading cards, and S.H.I.E.L.D. folder

Close-up of the ten (10) Captain America trading cards and S.H.I.E.L.D. folder. The trading cards are bloodied, which means they are the ones shown by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to motivate the Avengers to work as a team after Coulson's death at the hands of Loki.

Close-up view of the watch, headset / earpiece, mobile phone, Glock pistol with removable magazine

Also sunglasses, staff card, walkie talkie radio

Here's a close-up view / image of the Destroyer Gun. Coulson uses this gun which harnesses the power of the Destroyer and shoots Loki with it.

This Hot Toys The Avengers movie 1/6 scale Destroyer Gun not only has a light-up feature but it also has a extendable stock / butt (cheek piece) and adjustable scope

Here's a picture of Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6th scale Agent Phil Coulson 12-inch Limited Edition Figure holding up the Captain America trading cards with the hand specially designed for this purpose. You can also see Coulson wearing the watch which is included.

NEXT: More pictures of Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6th scale Agent Phil Coulson 12-inch Limited Edition Figure armed with the light-up Destroyer Gun ;p

Brother Production 1/6 scale Thief Figure or Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley in HEAT

Posted on 23:39 by Unknown
continued from previous post...

This is my second-part review of the recently released Brother Production Presents 1/6th scale Custom Hand Made THIEF 12-inch Action Figure which is inspired by Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley in HEAT. The first review posted HERE covered the box packaging and contents and showed 1/6 scale Neil McCauley putting on his custom made vest for carrying the eight M16 / M4 magazines just before he sets off to rob a bank. In this toy blog post, he's all dressed in his striped suit jacket and pants with white long sleeve shirt and tie plus shoes, with the vest and magazines now concealed under his jacket.

Michael Mann’s HEAT movie released in 1995 achieved both commercial and critical success, and is best known for its bank robbery-shoot-out scene where the bank robbers go full automatic on the LAPD officers in broad daylight when they are confronted. That was something worth watching all over again :) Scroll down to see more pictures of Brother Production 1/6 scale Thief 12-inch Figure or Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley in HEAT

Favorite movie quotes from the movie HEAT – Robert De Niro stars as Neil McCauley:
"Do not have any attachments, do not have anything in your life you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you spot the heat around the corner"

What Neil McCauley says to Al Pacino who plays Lieutenant Vincent Hanna: "I do what I do best, I take scores. You do what you do best, try to stop guys like me."

Heat (1995) was the first time Al Pacino and Robert De Niro came together onscreen in a movie and how they square off in the the scene in the restaurant where they confront each other was just a delight to watch.

The film is based on Detective Chuck Adamson's pursuit of serial criminal Neil McCauley in the 1960s. According to the featurettes Pacino, DeNiro and the Conversation and The Making of Heat: True Crime, included in the special edition DVD, which includes a taped interview with Adamson, the scene of McCauley and Hanna in the restaurant was also based on a real event.

Adamson met the real McCauley in a coffee shop and openly discussed the possible course of future events. The scene in which McCauley abandons the precious metal heist after hearing a noise was also based on a real event. McCauley abandoned the score after one of Adamson's officers, positioned on the top floor of a building McCauley and his crew were breaking into, broke protocol to go to the toilet. McCauley heard, and withdrew.

Brother Production Presents 1/6th scale Custom Hand Made Robert De Niro THIEF 12-inch Action Figure boxed set comes with one Normal 1/6th scale Head of Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley, alternate 1/6th scale Head, Over 35 Moving Joints 12-inch Base Body, Realistic and Detailed Striped Suit, Long Sleeve White Shirt, Tie, Magazine Carrying Vest, Belt, Socks, M4 Rifle, M4 Magazine x 8, Smoke grenade x 4, SIG P226 Pistol, US Dollar Notes, Duffle Bag, Gloved Hands, Black shoes, watch cap / hood / balaclava, Sunglasses and watch. Limited Edition run of 200 pieces.

Here's Neil McCauley wearing the sunglasses

The Duffle Bag is meant to carry the US Dollar Notes which are given in uncut sheets.

The M4 rifle comes with a very ugly green elastic rifle sling which I switched out

Not a bad head sculpt of Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley at all

Here are three Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley 12-inch figures, all from different manufacturers released at different times, with the latest release being the Brother Production 1/6 scale Thief Figure.

Brother Production has released two 1/6 scale Robert DeNiro figures so far - Thief (Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley in HEAT) and Cab Driver (Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle in "Taxi Driver")

Here are three of Brother Production 12-inch figure releases standing together (from left to right): 1/6 scale THIEF, New York Detective "Dirty Johnny" (reviewed HERE) and Cab Driver

Other Robert De Niro 12-inch figures already reviewed and posted on my toy blog:
June 9, 2008: Heat (1995) Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley 12-inch figure
June 10, 2008: Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley in armored car heist
September 27, 2010: 1/6th scale Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle as seen in "Taxi Driver (1976)"
