Pre-order Crazy Owners 1/6 scale San Francisco Cop 12-inch action figure: "Feel lucky, punk?"

Posted on 22:18 by Unknown
Dirty Harry is a 1971 American crime thriller produced and directed by Don Siegel, the first in the Dirty Harry film series. Clint Eastwood plays the title role, in his first outing as San Francisco Police Department Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan. Dirty Harry was a critical and commercial success and set the style for a whole genre of police films. The film was followed by four sequels: Magnum Force in 1973, The Enforcer in 1976, Sudden Impact in 1983 (directed by Eastwood himself), and The Dead Pool in 1988.

Inspector Harold Francis "Dirty Harry" Callahan is a fictional San Francisco police detective in the Dirty Harry film series, becoming the template for a new kind of movie cop: someone who does not hesitate to cross professional and ethical boundaries in pursuit of his own vision of justice, especially when the law is poorly served by an inept bureaucracy.

This is Crazy Owners 1/6 scale San Francisco Cop 12-inch action figure Set includes: 1/6 scale Head Sculpt, 12-inch Figure body, Dress Shirt, Tie, Vest Sweater, Sports Coat, Pants, Socks, Shoes and 1/6 scale Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum. Scroll down to see more pictures

Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit

Posted on 20:00 by Unknown
This is the Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit which consists of 3 Playmobil Police Officers fully dressed in riot gear including Riot Shield and a Police Dog. I've always liked Playmobil while growing up and my first Playmobil figure I got as an adult was the Playmobil 3949 Deep Sea Diver (see the pictures in my toy blog post HERE). I was attracted to it because the mini figure was identical to the Action Man 1/6 scale Deep Sea Diver (check out the pictures HERE) which I thought was rather cool. It's like a "Mini-Me" (Mini-Me is a character played by Verne Troyer in the second and third Austin Powers movies: Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in Goldmember. Before Dr. Evil was sent back in time to 1969, his minions made him a clone. The clone was identical in every way, but he was "one-eighth his size". Upon being introduced to his clone, Dr. Evil immediately declared, "Breathtaking. I shall call him... Mini-Me")

Since then, I've been picking up Playmobil figures on and off, only when I really liked what I saw and when I felt they would belong as part of my toy collection :) Not obsessive, just selective haha. Lately Playmobil has been coming out with more themes and offering a greater range of products which suit me just fine. This set was one I could not resist since I'm into 1/6 scale S.W.A.T. figures as well - check out my recent post of "1/6 scale S.W.A.T. 12-inch Action Figures" HERE. They really look impressive when assembled together. This Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit just look so cool with helmets that have the full face shield, gas mask and full body shield as well.

The Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit packaging box show off the three figures straight away and the back of the box shows you what you'll find inside the box once you opened it. I much prefer Playmobil figures to Lego figures because Playmobil figures are much bigger in size and offers more details. Lego figures have mostly painted on details and do not have molded extra pieces. They offer a world of imagination to children and even adults who bother to tinker with them but the end result is still a very blocky look and not as finished as Playmobil figures are.

Check out the Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit K-9 unit officer (wearing his beret and radio comms) with his canine companion

Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit officer with gas mask, helmet with face shield, gloves, baton and full body shield

All three officers from the Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit have pistols which can be stored in their holsters

Here's a picture of the latest Playmobil 5186 Police Special Forces Unit standing among their other police officers - Playmobil #5790 Special Agent figure (pictures posted HERE), Playmobil #4693 SWAT Police Officer Figure (more pictures HERE) and Playmobil Policeman with Tracking Dog

Just some RoboCop and RoboCop movie-related figures on display, including ED-209 & RoboCain

Posted on 19:10 by Unknown
This is how I have been displaying my Hot Toys 1/6 scale ED 209 collectible figure since I took it out of the box, alongside smaller sized RoboCop figures from various other manufacturers. It looked rather lonesome all by itself and there was no way to squeeze any other 1/6 scale figure into the display cabinet. This was a case where I built the display cabinet first (way back in 1997) and it was never intended for displaying the Hot Toys ED-209 collectible figure as I didn't even know at the time that I would ever be seeing one in 1/6 scale but it seems to have served its purpose as a RoboCop themed display cabinet with ED-209 taking centre stage :)

You can see lots more pictures of Hot Toys ED 209 version 1.0 in my toy blog post HERE. The other smaller RoboCop figures were released at different times by different companies and being a fan of the RoboCop movies, I ended up collecting them as well. The other two Hot Toys 1/6 scale RoboCop 12-inch collectible figures in my collection are: RoboCop from the first movie (pictures HERE and HERE) and RoboCop 3 with jetpack / flight pack (reviewed HERE and HERE). Scroll down to see the rest of the RoboCop display :)

Hot Toys 1:6 scale ED-209 as seen from the back

This is the 1988 Kenner RoboCop Ultra Police ED-260 Robot (not sure why they didn't call it the Enforcement Droid Series 209 or simply ED-209). One of the cool things was that it had a cap firing feature at the back and a small roll of caps were included (described as "Rapid Repeat Cap-firing Mechanism"). More pictures HERE of this Kenner ED-260 (ED-209) Cap Firing Robot.

Here's a look at the Kotobukiya ED-209 from the RoboCop movies. These mini Kotobukiya figures, released in 2006, consisted of 2 to 7 easy to assemble parts ranging in size from 3 to 5 inches. ED-209 is only about 3 inches tall (7.5 cm) but the amount of detail they managed to squeeze into something so small is amazing. See all the pictures in my 2009 toy blog post HERE

Then there's the Kotobukiya RoboCop 3 with Jet Pack

It has very nice details. See my post HERE for more pictures. In the foreground is the Mez-Itz RoboCop Figure. You can see the rest of the pictures HERE

This is the Kotobukiya RoboCop mini figure which measures just 4 inches tall (10 cm high) but I just love the details they managed to pack into something so small! Full review and coverage HERE

Last but not least, RoboCain! Too bad this is only 3.5 inches tall or 9 cm high. See all the pictures HERE

Pre-order Very Hot 1/6 scale SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) version 2.0 outfit set

Posted on 22:22 by Unknown
Missing out on a S.W.A.T. 12-inch figure or need more 1/6 scale S.W.A.T. figures to join Police Commissioner James Gordon in his fight to win back Gotham City from the terrorists that have taken over the city since the Dark Knight has fallen? Well, wait no longer because Very Hot is offering this very nice looking 1/6 scale S.W.A.T. version 2.0 outfit set. Note: No 12-inch figure is included with the outfit / uniform set.

SWAT ("Special Weapons And Tactics") is a commonly-used proper name for law enforcement units, which use military-style light weapons and specialized tactics in high-risk operations that fall outside of the abilities of regular, uniformed police. "SWAT" is commonly-used internationally, as a colloquial, generic term for these units.

Their duties include: confronting heavily-armed criminals; performing hostage rescue and counter-terrorism operations; high risk arrests and; entering armored or barricaded buildings. Such units are often equipped with specialized firearms including submachine guns, assault rifles, breaching shotguns, riot control agents, stun grenades, and sniper rifles. They have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, ballistic shields, entry tools, armored vehicles, advanced night vision optics, and motion detectors for covertly determining the positions of hostages or hostage takers, inside enclosed structures.

Some sources state that the first use of "SWAT" as an acronym for "Special Weapons and Tactics" was the Special Weapons and Tactics Squad established by the Philadelphia Police Department in 1964. A more prominent early SWAT team was established in the Los Angeles Police Department in 1967, by Inspector Daryl Gates. After that, many United States law enforcement organizations, especially the police departments of major cities, as well as federal and state agencies, established their own elite units under various names. (source: wiki)

While the public image of SWAT first became known through the LAPD, perhaps because of its proximity to the mass media and the size and professionalism of the Department itself, the first actual SWAT-type operations were conducted north of Los Angeles in the farming community of Delano, California on the border between Kern and Tulare Counties in the San Joaquin Valley.

The first significant deployment of the LAPD's SWAT unit was on December 9, 1969, in a four-hour confrontation with members of the Black Panthers. The Panthers eventually surrendered, with three Panthers and three officers being injured. By 1974, there was a general acceptance of SWAT as a resource for the city and county of Los Angeles.

SWAT teams use equipment designed for a variety of specialist situations including close quarters combat (CQC) in an urban environment. The particular pieces of equipment vary from unit to unit, but there are some consistent trends in what they wear and use.

Aside from the standard uniforms of their parent law-enforcement organizations, SWAT personnel often wear similar utility uniforms to armed-forces tactical uniforms, with the main difference being the colorations of such utility uniforms. SWAT utility uniforms are generally in solid colors, usually but not limited to dark gray, dark blue, or black. However, "urban camouflage" patterns have been developed, consisting mainly of black, white, and shades of gray.

While a wide variety of weapons are used by SWAT teams, the most common weapons include submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles. Tactical aids include K9 Units, as well as flash bang, stinger, and tear gas grenades.
